August 6, 2011 - Blog Move

I'm moving my blog to honeywave.wordpress.com

I'm moving it because I'm getting a lot of spammers and it's getting quite annoying.

August 1, 2011 - Debt Ceiling, Summer Recipe, and Minecraft Project

This is the first day of August! Another month until I go back to school... And another month until my Japanese friend leave...

Today, the debt-ceiling compromise passed. Gabrielle Giffords also came and voted... Amazing...

I made something that is awesome... A recipe to be exact... Here it is:

Note: You'll need a pretty strong blender... I am not responsible for broken blenders...

1 cup of frozen strawberries
3/4 cup of frozen blueberries
1/4 cups of frozen raspberries
1 1/2 cups of strawberry yogurt
3/4 cup of strawberry Italian ice
1/4 cup of strawberry ice cream

1. Let the frozen things defrost a little. Take a large bowl/pot and stir together all the ingredients.
2. Put the mix into the blender slowly. And blend it on high.
3. Pour it into a container and freeze it. Stir it every 30 minutes.
4. Eat it...

I'm working on the adventure map... I have a picture of the unfinished Lamis Manor, I may change the name.
I'm making this on my personal server and it's being moved to my friend's server...

July 29, 2011 - Alternate Minecraft Server Hosters

There are two server hosting websites I know of, http://servercraft.co/ and http://lethaldrive.com/

LethalDrive's owner is Jacob William Jervey (JWJ) the previous owner of BroHoster until he got kicked out by Matt. So I trust it. Also at the bottom of the page, there is a coupon code for 25% off... for life. :D You'll need to pre-order and I don't think it's going to be up until a while after.

ServerCraft is something I also trust. It is the host of the Shaftlands, owned by the Shaft Podcast found on YouTube and iTunes. I've been on a couple times and there's some lag if there's a lot of people on, like 100 people... So it's pretty good.

July 28, 2011 - Last SyranCraft Photos... For Now

These are the screenshots of SyranCraft that I took yesterday. The server has been wiped from the face of the Earth and the money paid won't be refunded...

Buggy skeleton...
Buggy skeleton one day later... dug out the ground underneath him... bust have shown the sign of the soon to come BroHoster server wipe... and shutdown... It was incredibly laggy too... And yesterday too...
Not fully rendered... the large mass of trees are multiple trees the one that's mostly surrounded by sand is one tree alone...
The road to the mine... and I planted the trees... I'm such a conservationist... even in games...
Tower in the sky... Can't get to it without a compass or a pillar of dirt, diamond, whatever...
The Osgiliath castle... it's either not finished or it's just not finished rendering...
I see my shop and my farm... and the castle... and a house...
Stupid gravel is in my way...
One of those stone beaches I always find on servers...

July 28, 2011 - BroHoster Closes

Hello guys wokeupsleepy here, BroHoster is currently out of business according to ClubUptime and my friend, an employee of BroHoster. There is also a thread on FacePunch. One of the workers Andrew, the person on FacePunch and a former employee of BroHoster, is now working for a new game server hosting company called LethalDrive. The cause is unknown for the site was working perfectly fine until today. It seemed as though everything was wiped, on purpose, I don't know. It's as though somebody or something wiped a CD with a magnet. Don't ask me what happened or how it happened, I'm only a fried with a BroHoster employee.

This is the best I can do to explain. JWJ and another person, Matt, started BroHoster and it was quite a success. After a few months, Matt kicked JWJ from the company. The company started to decay from the inside out. Matt tried to sell it, failed and many employees left and then it just shut down. Basically, one person stripped the company to it's bare bones and took all the money when he didn't even do anything.

According to my friend, over $93k is gone. So if you are asking for a refund, my answer is that the money is gone. Not only is the money gone, so are the maps and servers.

The alternative for BroHoster right now is LethalDrive. I've received phenomenal feed back from a few of their customers.

Please excuse my language.

Fuck you Matt, fuck you.

Hello all, it's been a while since I blogged. I've been playing on a server called SyranCraft. The links are going to be at the end of the blog post. I've done a lot of things in the the SyranCraft server. I added a few pictures below.

The cave that I found still has the mushrooms... Mushroom kingdom!

July 18, 2011 - Minecraft Project, Sky City.

This is the progress through Aerialform...

Yesterday... Finished this much... and stopped...
The large mine made with TNT...
It just hand to start raining and snowing when I was working on my third tower.
After finishing the third tower, it's still snowing...
Chunk are slow to update... One of them stayed in the day position for the whole night, then a chunk stayed dark the whole day.
Sunset with a few slow updating chunks.... and not a fully rendered world...
TNT mine... actually pretty effective... Also, there's a huge lava sea down there... and a huge underground cliff...
About two hours of building... connected the towers.
 At night...
Made it even grander, going to make a shrine at the cross...

I'll give the seed later in another post.

July 9, 2011 - Blog Name Change

I'm changing the title of my blog from "Facepalm" to "Philosophy of a Teenager." I did this because facepalms are mostly for fails and etc. "Philosophy of a Teenager" suits it more because I am a teenager, and you are reading about what normally goes on in my head... Or in my life... Or stuff... Yeah...

July 5, 2011 - Minecraft Soon To Come

Over a few months, notch has said to expect a few things. This is my opinions on them.

1. Official mod support

This is good, by the time this is release, I should be able to finish my mod. This thing should make installing mods easier.

2. New features in the terrain generator

Ehh, I don't know, it's just a few new things. If they generate larger dungeons, volcanoes, taller mountains, I'd be happy enough.

3. More achievements

Depends on what they are... Achievement Get!

4. More underwater content

Notch said no sharks because it'd be hard for the player to deal with. If he adds like more fish types, coral reefs, underwater cities, scuba gear, I'd be pumped. He should also make the fish mob so that there's a higher chance that you'll get fish.

5. A new sky dimension

Awesome! You would need to make bridges and make sure that you don't dig too deep or you'll fall through the island.

6. More playable Records for the Jukebox

Wait, what? YES! That would be awesome! That way, I won't have to make my own music which takes ages.

7. Minecraft Pocket Edition

I really don't care... It's just portable Minecraft. Also, from the preview, it's just the creative one for Xperia Play.

8. Xbox Edition

Uh.... That depends on how good it is and if you can play if you already have an account. It's gonna be like Minecraft... the FPS! Haha...

9. Adventure Mode

On Notch's twitter, he said that he's going to add a brightness slider he also said, "real miners play in the darkest setting" so I am not a real miner... but then again, the glare is horrible... He's going to add NPC villages, randomly generated dungeons, critical hits, and sprinting... At least those are the things that I think revolve around the Adventure update.

A few other things he's going to add is more farming options so we aren't just going to farm wheat and sugarcane...

Also, he says fully working Creative Mode. I really don't care about creative mode in single-player but he says that admins can enter Creative mode on a SMP server.

EDIT: Ignore the part in the number 2 about the dungeons...

June 28, 2011 - 1.7 and 1.8 for Minecraft

Notch says that 1.7 will be mostly an update about pistons... The creator of the Pistons mod submitted it to Notch and he's adding it to the game without it needing a mod.

1.8 will be the Adventure update. He's going to change how Minecraft is going to be played. It's focused mostly on exploration and combat, making it more rewarding.

He's going to be implementing newer, more complex terrain features. He's also going to add new combat mechanics, a new lighting engine, and new, explerimental gameplay ideas. Apparently, farmings gonna be more interesting, more crops maybe? There's gonna be bigger incentives to explore and NPC villages.

In other news, I've been playing Terraria with a bunch of my friends. I'm currently in Hawaii. It's not as hot as I expected... Must be global warming. I've started to play Magicka after being goaded for weeks. It's incredibly fun, unless you're playing with a bunch of d***heads.

- Painterly Pack by Rhodox
http://www.painterlypack.net

Lets start with Somnia. It is an interesting mod. When you go to sleep, time continues on as if it were real-time, except sped up. That's about it... at least that's what I've seen so far. Since the Curse Network is down, I couldn't go on it and see it.

Next, MoreHealth. It is a very helpful mod. In the beginning of every world, you start with 5 hearts. You can find heart fragments underground. By combining 4 heart fragments, you get heart containers, which increase your health by a full heart. The maximum amount of hearts you can have is 20. That's about it for this mod. It's a lot like Zelda...

After that, ModOptions Api. I don't know what it is, when I figure it out, I'll post again.

This mod is probably a mod you've heard of before. Mo' Creature. Holy shit this mod is good. I've been using this mod for a few months now. It is truly amazing. It adds a lot of additional creatures. My favorites are the bunnies, the deer, and the birds. There are many colored bunnies that spawn everyday. You can put one on your head by right clicking it. The deer are so realistic and so cute. It is incredibly hard to catch up to one. It will run away from you so the best bet is to hit it with a bow and arrow. The birds are so numerous. It's rare for me to find a forest without a single bird. You can throw seeds and they will gather at the seeds and eat it. If you kill a bird, then you'll get your seeds back. Nothing else to say except it is truly amazing.

GUI API... I don't know what it is...

Ooo... PISTONS! There are two types of pistons, the normal pistons, and sticky pistons. These things are amazing. They can launch things in the air, such as TNT, items, mobs, you name it. You can find YouTube videos by CaptainSparklez working with the pistons.

DaftPVF's mods are a game changer. The slime gear is not very useful for me. The game having score is amazing. I'm trying to get an incredibly high score. It has also made me a lot more wary because I don't want a creeper to creep up on me and kill me, which erases my score. My current highest is 32,719. The starting inventory is very useful because of another of his mods, Treecapitator. The starting inventory includes a wooden pick, axe, shovel, and sword. It also contains a recipe book which shows all the recipes. Treecapitator made cutting trees more efficient and less time consuming. All you have to do it cut somewhere at the trunk and it will make all the wood come down like a rain of wood.

Risugami's mod are vital to this mod pack, at least one of them anyways. Modloader is needed to install the mods. The AudioMod is, well, something that I don't know. The death chest is where a chest a placed when you die and all your items will be stored inside them when you die. If the all the contents can fit, they'll be dropped on the ground. Shelves is like a chest but it can only store 9 items. It only needs 3 block of either wood, stone, brick, or obsidian. It is a good way to display your items. More Arrows is an addition of a lot arrows. One of them is the exploding arrow, my personal favorite. You craft it like a normal arrow except the flint is replaced with gunpowder. It had the speed of an arrow and the destruction of 1 block of TNT. If you get caught in the blast radius, it won't hurt you.

Airships and sky pirates. Airships is like boats... except in the air. I think it's "c" to open the airship inventory... I don't know. You can load it with arrows and shoot things. Like the sky pirates, which can become annoying if you don't know how to deal with them.

Millenaire... My favorite mod. It implements a currency, something that Minecraft really needs especially in SMP. It randomly generates a village on new chunks that are generated so if you have an old world, you can only find a village by finding a chunk that has not been generated. All I'm going to say is that it is what makes this Mod pack my favorite.

I didn't see much of Hogofwar's mods except the magical bone wands. There's a bam stick... which predictably blows up. It won't of course... Nothing much to be said about this. I didn't see much... Like I said.

Buried treasure... I've found only 2 treasure chests in 6 worlds... They are hidden underground and include treasures... like gold ingots or maps.

ConvenientInventory should never be included in this mod pack... I absolutely hate it... It's useless...

Finally... The Painterly Pack. The texture pack that goes along with this is a custom texture pack that includes everything... Things might look weird if you don't put the one included with this mod pack on...

Bye...

Book Review 02: The House of the Scorpion by Nancy Farmer

I have read this book over and over again and it is still incredibly entertaining. The book is about a clone named Matteo Alacran, the clone of the drug lord El Patron, the original Matteo Alacran. In the future, everybody hates clones and they are treated horribly. It takes place in the country of Opium, a strip of land between Aztlan (currently Mexico) and the US. Opium, hence it's name, produces huge amounts of opium, which is controlled by Matteo Alacran who uses "eejits", enslaved people who have computer chips implanted inside their brains. Matt, the clone, lives in the house of Celia, a cook at the Alacran house. She was to take care of Matt. One day, two children, Emilia and Steven, find the house and they spot Matt. They leave and return again the next day with Maria. Matt breaks out by breaking a window, but never experiencing pain before, he steps into the broken glass. The children carry him back to the Big House. A man, Mr. Alacran, recognizes him as the clone of El Patron. In the next few months, he is treated like an animal by most of the Alacrans. Maria doesn't like that he is treated like an animal and tells Celia, who passes it on to El Patron. El Patron punishes the main in charge of Matt my making her an eejit and gives Matt a bodyguard. He also orders the others to treat him respectfully, but they only treat him nicely in front of El Patron. The bodyguard is Tam Lin, who Matt looks up to as a fatherly figure.

You go and read the book to find out more of it.

Book Review 01: Watership Down by Richard Adams

This book is absolutely amazing. If you like the "Warrior" series, then you will like this book. It is a story about a group of rabbits that leave their warren to find a new home. A rabbit, named Fiver, senses danger and wants to leave. He convinces a few other rabbits to come along, Hazel (Fiver's brother), Bigwig (an ex-Owsla officer), and later on, Holly. Just read the book... It's really good. There's also a film on the book.

The book was overly good but it took me a long time to read. I was pretty bored at the start and stopped reading for a day. Then, I picked it up again and finished it.

June 20, 2011 - More Minecraft

I just bought Minecraft again... I need a multiplayer server... Note to self: talk to Stefan. I'm adding a few screenshots right now, I know it's not a lot, but it will suffice... Look at the tree that's in I think 4 biomes... The screenshots are above... I dunno why...

June 16, 2011 - Ranitng About Human Cloning

Cloning humans, that;s a very touchy subject to a lot of people, mostly religious people. For me, it's fine. Cloning is like playing God, creating life from their own hands. Also for the person that is cloned, it seems a bit awkward to have two identical people but at different ages in the same place. Twins, triplets, quadruplets, and so on and so forth are different than clones. They may seem like clones but they may be a few seconds, or minutes, apart in age. Clones bear the same identities, a bad person is bad, a clone of the bad person will be assumed to be bad. The reputation carries on. Twins, not so much, they can bear different identities. Such as the evil twin and the sweet twin. Twins don't normally have the same reputation. They should be treated like "regular" humans. They have a conscience, they have a soul. They aren't the soulless bastards that hate them. Have you ever met a person that you absolutely love. What if you met a clone of them. Would you hate him/her? I wouldn't, that's like hating the person you love.

June 14, 2011 - Reminder...

Okay, so don't click the title of the post, that just takes you to a random website... Mostly to the website that I'm reading...

June 14, 2011 - Buncha Rambling... and Philosophy...

I'm more of a follower than a leader. I normally go with the flow, sometimes. Like the time on my track team. (What do I mean my track team... pssh...) The captain told me what to do, even though I sometimes didn't like it. I don't know why I didn't say anything. I was either too scared to too short... probably too scared. Followers are responsible for their own actions, like leaders. Whether they are a leader or follower, they all have a conscience to tell them wrong and right. A leader makes his own decisions. A follower is either forced or voluntarily following somebody. They don't have to be a follower, but that is their state of mind... They can be a leader by doing something of their own, controlled by themselves, not by another person. Many leaders themselves are followers. Take the teacher and the student. The student can be a leader among others by being somebody important and have people that look up to them, get jealous of them, dote on them... But the teacher controls the student. The teacher tells the student to study and work... (Not in the child labor sense.) The person higher up is the principal or department administrator, then so on and so forth. Even inanimate objects are leaders and followers. A book, the leader, includes words, the followers, which tell a story made by the author, the leader. Have I been rambling on for half an hour now? My, the time goes by quickly. Sure a person can be a leader or a follower, but what about those in the middle. They are neither a leader or follower. An outlaw, outcast, criminal, loner. You've heard of them, avoided them, you yourself may be one... You've feared them, thinking they are different in a bad way... I'm gonna stop talking now... To who though? Oh wait... you...

June 13, 2011 - Information Dump

I have just finished coding my 200th line... programming alone is so hard... AARGH!!! I'm stopping for a while and over the time I have been absent I have done a few things.

Thing #1:
On Sunday, June 12, I went to a wedding. Interesting and also my first wedding I ever went to... When I came home, I was so tired.

Thing #2:
I entered a Starcraft 2 tournament... Yay... The prize is only $250, but it's better than nothing.

Thing #3:
I've just learned how to correctly write a dissertation...

Thing #4:
I've started to record a podcast. But I stopped in a week because there wasn't anybody to do the podcast with me

Thing #5:
I'm starting a forum... not many things on yet... actually almost nothing but I'm starting right now...

June 5, 2011 - Milestone

There was a milestone today... The 500th view... There is a 58% chance of it being a Russian... Awesome... Hi Russians!

I have coded 50 lines today... not many but it's enough... Need to test it out first.

June 5, 2011 - Buncha Random Stuff

Hi... Well, I have finished one forth of the custom map. I haven't played the normal game recently so I've been working on that... Not much... I haven't been able to play the last few days so I haven't been making progress.

I have also found out that about one third of my viewers aren't from the US... Awesome.

Notch is saying that he is going to add Adventure Mode in 1.7.

I'm going to start to develop my own game... What to call it? That sounds so nerdish...

May 29, 2011 - Minecraft Bugs

Just played Minecraft 1.6.5 and the bugs are still there... There are huge bugs like tools breaking in one use if dropped and then picked up. Notch better fix this soon, or somebody else will dominate... the sandbox arena...

May 21, 2011 - Judgement Day 2, Sky Dimension, SPAZ, and Terraria

Well, today is the Rapture and Judgement Day... What a load of bull.

Notch announced on his Twitter feed that he's going to add a sky dimension where it will generate islands in the air, amazing! PC Gamer made a huge fuss about it and also has some of Notch's screenshots of it. Link below:
http://www.pcgamer.com/2011/05/19/minecraft-screenshots-reveal-new-sky-dimension/
More on Minecraft, I'm going to post some screenshots of the custom adventure map I am making.

SPAZ. This game is amazing. It's amazing. It's real name is Space Pirates and Zombie. It's an RTSRPG. Just play it.

Terraria. Most people call it Minecraft 2D. It is nothing like that. It is totally different, well not totally. But it is incredibly fun.

May 20, 2011 - Judgement Day and Minecraft Map

Hello guys, this post is concerning Judgement Day. I personally, don't believe in judgement day. Like, who would believe that? Except Christians. I don't have anything against Christians, I'm just saying. It says that all the Christians are going to be taken up to Heaven at 18h00 in American time. The rest are going to stay on Earth and enjoy a hellish life for five months until the end of the world.

Onto other news, the I have started to do another part of the adventure map. I'm gonna add screenshots tonight if I can.

May 19, 2011 - New Custom Map

Hi guys, I've been spending a lot of time making a custom adventure map on Minecraft. On Notch's Twitter feed, he is adding a new dimension the floating dimension. He is also going to add hatches, a.k.a. trapdoors. Finally! Now, once I'm done with the map, I'll upload it to MediaFire and allow all of you to play it. It may not be the best, and the redstone things aren't so impressive, but I'm going to improve, count on that. This is my second custom adventure map. Bye guys, the next post will include some sneak previews of the adventure map. I like me Jaffa cakes...

May 13, 2011 - WHEEEEEEEEEEEEE

My voice is broken right now... That's because I was screaming so much at Lake Compounce... Goodness gracious, I can't sing or scream anymore... Dang it... Oh well... My blog posts seem to be more and more less frequent and smaller.

On Minecraft news, Notch is deciding to put in the Nether on SMP. Yay! Also he is considering to put MinecraftCon 2011 in Vegas. Yeah! Apparently the 1.6 patch isn't coming out soon. Wish it would. He's going to add maps to Minecraft. In SMP that'd be awesome! From the poll on where it should be, there are a lot of Scandinavians that play Minecraft. You don't hear much about Scandinavia these days do you? But HI SCANIDNAVIANS! :D

April 22, 2011 - New Minecraft Screenshots

I have new screenshots for all... Not many... but still...
This is GERUDOKU's Pumpkin helmet... I feel like I'm in a FPS...
A really, really, really, bad arch... near the spawn point of a questing map... city is coming in next screenshots...
Sunset, or sunset, at a docking bay for an airship, building it rightnow
The city's source of food... need to make sure there is no grass blocks exposed... damn sheep...
The Fountains... of I dunno... Dumbledore? That wasn't funny... I gotta stop talking to myself... The unfinished wall is behind the fountain, you can see the crappy gate and pigs taking a swim...
Ye Olde Inn for the questing city... It is connected to the airship dock.
Airship dock took off the extension of three blocks in the left part. Airships are hard to make...

The texture pack is made by tombones link below it is outdated only compatible with 1.4 and below:
[32x] [1.4] GERUDOKU Outdated
Another one is made by doku:
[32x] [1.5] DokuCraft 1.6.5 [Beta]
